My wife & I stopped here on the way to a wedding in Salem. We love "Mom & Pop" places, and this one definitely fit the bill! Tracy & crew (The Frosty Family) are a well oiled machine! All the food leaving the kitchen looked delicious, & plentiful! We split an open faced burger on Texas Toast, & it was an amazing hunk of ground beef! Homemade Pork Skins were perfectly done! Our server Kristin (hope I spelled that correctly!) was friendly, attentive, & helpful! She presented us with a local brew sample that was much to our liking! If you're ever passing thru the area, just a short drive from I-57 or I-64. Tracy (the manager) has been there 28 years... enough said!

Stopped in our way back from Indiana and we were hoping to agree with the good reviews we read. Everyone liked their food, we had great service, the prices were fair and we got to see the Cardinal game and enjoy the weather in their patio. Bathroom was clean. Only thing that might bother some ppl is if you sit indoors it smells like cigarette smoke.

The best Italian Beef sandwich.... Matt makes the best. The Black n Blue Chicken salad is very tasty. The Cod Fish basket is always a favorite, too. Great place, and great atmosphere.

Stopped for dinner on April 7th. We were in town for the eclipse. Wait staff was friendly, efficient , and just plain fun. 5/5! Food was great. I had the pulled pork sandwich, again a 5/5. Two others had tenderloins and reported a 5/5. Place was clean, and not to bright given it was a bar!! Highly recommend.

As always, one cannot eat everything on their menu in one sitting; must come back and come back and come back for more. This is truly a gem for brisket in the entire mid west.

My partner has been cross country 26 + times and has stopped for BBQ many times in many different states. He claimed, and I agree, this is the best BBQ we’ve ever had. Staff was friendly and service fantastic. We would go out of our way to come back again.

Tish was our awesome waitress. Funny and very attentive. She suggested the brisket and it did not disappoint. Beans, onion rings and pork rinds made our meal complete. We are so glad we found this place and will be back the next time we travel through.

Service excellent. Pork loin and brisket were very good. Sides were good. Large variety of food on the menu. Beer was cold. Make the effort to get to this local bar.

Just a great time in a solid, unpretentious and friendly joint. Saw all ages in there. Food was excellent / had the stuffed chicken special and would eat it again. Terrific value and portions. Server Desiree is my next wife, but she doesn’t know it! Wonderful lady who takes service with a smile to a high level. Will be back.

Traveling to St. Louis airport, we decided to pull off the interstate and give The Frosty Mug Bar & Grill a try on a busy, Friday evening. Despite the crowd, we were seated immediately. The food was delicious! I had the pulled pork sandwich with homemade house chips and my husband had the brisket. The sandwiches come with chips, but the waitress told me they are Lays Potato Chips; we asked for the homemade chips. I really enjoyed this pulled pork sandwich with the sweet BBQ sauce. My husband enjoyed his with the spicy sauce and a mug of Blue Moon! We also enjoyed the music that was playing. We will stop in again if our travels lead us this direction!

Tired of the fast food options? Want to try something local? This place was a great stop for lunch on our way home. We had good service, Covid protocols were observed, and the best food. We started with beer battered onion rings, fried mushrooms, and the best smoked chicken wings. For lunch, we had the Memphis style pulled pork, pub burger, horseshoe, and chicken wrap. All was great and we would definitely go back!

Amazing food, especially for the value- We had the half smoked chicken, and a fantastic burger. The homemade pub chips were freshly made and perfect. They very much accommodated our food preferences and allergies without a fuss (which can be rare). I just wish we lived closer to take advantage of the catering. So nice to get real food just a little ways off the interstate. Easy to order ahead...

The smoked chicken and brisket were absolutely amazing!! Very relaxing atmosphere and Tish was an awesome hostess that took great care of us!! Don’t miss an opportunity for some of the best smoked BBQ around!!

If you are looking for a simple, local BBQ place in Mount Vernon, I would recommend you try out Frosty Mug. If you are looking for an outstanding BBQ place in Mount Vernon,I would recommend that you run (don't walk) to Frosty Mug. The name of the place really doesn't do it justice. Yes, its a bar (with a drive through beverage lane) and it offers traditional bar food but their specialty is their smoked meats and BBQ. Quite simply their BBQ is outstanding. My wife had the brisket and loved it. I had the smoked wings and BBQ nacho. Great stuff. Can't wait to do again.
